The Smith & Wesson Model 669 9mm
In today's modern world it seems we build things that are for short use or throwaway in nature. The houses we build all look the same and look like they would not survive a hurricane. The cars we drive today are very comfortable but are made very cheaply. Washing Machines, Dishwashers, and TV's, just to name a few things all seem to be made disposable. Chances are pretty high you are not driving your grandads car around today. In contrast it is very feasible that a young boy could be hunting or plinking with his Grandfather's or Great Grandfather's gun.
The 80's brought on the wonder 9 or high capacity 9mm. I guess law enforcement felt the need to have more bullets. This need brought on some really neat guns. Guns like the Beretta 92, the Glock 19 and the Smith & Wesson 59 and 69 series guns. The 669 is one of my favorites. It is the same size as one of my other favorite Smith guns the Smith & Wesson 3913 but with a double stack magazine that holds 14 rounds. The 669 makes a great carry gun. On a foot note the 669 was was a star in 12 movies as well as a star in the popular tv show Miami Vice.
The Smith 669 was made from 1985 until 1988. It shoots the 9x19 cartridge. The gun is stainless steel construction with plastic grips. The medium framed Smith weighs 1.65 pounds is 6.875 inches overall and has a 3.5 inch barrel. The pistol is semi automatic. I wish I had inherited one from my father. I guess I will just have to shoot the one I bought at the Gunshow that was someone else's father.
